Simplesat allows you to create a satisfaction survey that you can embed directly in HubSpot's email notifications.

Create your survey

First, create a new survey.

Customize the survey settings, then choose the Generic Embed option in the Publish section.

Enter the HubSpot placeholders into the fields:

Suggested HubSpot placeholders:

  • Team Member Email -  NA
  • Team Member ID - NA
  • Team Member First Name - NA
  • Team Member Last Name -  NA
  • Customer Email - {{contact.email}}
  • Customer ID - {{ personalization_token('contact.hs_object_id', 'id') }}
  • Customer First Name - {{contact.firstname}}
  • Customer Last Name - {{contact.lastname}}
  • Company Name - N/A
  • Ticket ID - N/A
  • Ticket Subject - N/A

Note: In the customer ID and company name placeholders, we used the contact ID URL that links directly to the HubSpot contact. You'd need to replace the XXXXXXX with your HubSpot ID number.

Once you have the placeholders filled in, click Generate Embed Code. Make sure you're on the HTML option, then click Copy survey.

Add your survey to HubSpot

You would need to have the Marketing Hub Professional plan, and a Service Desk if it will be tied to tickets.

First, create the email template to use and paste in the survey embed code there

On your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing and click on Files and Templates > Design Tools.

Paste the survey embed codes.

In this example, the code was pasted after the body.

Next, create an actual email and specify the type of email (it must be automated for an automation based workflow), then select the template you created by going to Marketing > Email.

Select the survey template.

Now you can finish editing your email template and test sending the email to see how it will all work together.

Try it out!

Test sending an email to yourself with a contact preview selected.

Check your email and click any rating that you like. Once you do, new feedback should instantly show up in your Simplesat dashboard. 🎊
