Missive integrations

Add a Simplesat survey to a Missive response and insert it into your replies to customers.

You can save a Simplesat survey as a Missive response and insert it into your replies. When you do, Missive fills in the conversation, the customer and your own details, so each answer reaches Simplesat with those details.

Before you start

Adding a survey to Missive works on every Simplesat plan. To set a survey's delivery method, you need the Manage surveys permission. Owner and Admin have it by default.

Send surveys from Missive

  1. Create or open the survey and choose External email embed.

  2. Under Choose where to add your survey, choose Missive.

  3. On Publish, click Generate embed code.

  4. Choose Visual and click Copy survey.

  5. In Missive, create a response and paste the survey into it. You can keep the response to yourself or share it with your team.

  6. Save the response.

To send the survey, insert the response into your reply to the customer. Add the customer as the recipient first, so their details go into the survey links.

The survey links carry these Missive variables:

What the link carries

Missive variable

Ticket ID

{{conversation.id}}

Customer email

{{recipient.email}}

Customer first name

{{recipient.first_name}}

Customer last name

{{recipient.last_name}}

Team member email

{{user.email}}

The team member is the Missive user who inserts the response, not the person the conversation is assigned to. For more on how placeholders work, see Placeholders and merge fields.

Heads up: Always send the survey by inserting the response. If you paste it straight into a message, the links won't work.

Tip: To test it, send the response in a reply to yourself and click a rating. Your answer shows up in Simplesat with your conversation's ID and your details.

If you're still deciding, Choosing a survey delivery method compares Missive with the other ways Simplesat can send a survey.

Troubleshooting

The link reached Simplesat with {{conversation.id}} still as typed. Missive fills in variables only when you insert a response, so this happens when the survey is pasted straight into a message. Put the survey in a Missive response and insert that response into your reply instead.

If links from another tool open the same page, the fix for that tool is in Placeholders and merge fields.

FAQ

Is there a video that shows how to add a survey to Missive?

No, there's no video. Follow the steps under Send surveys from Missive, and if you get stuck, contact us and we'll help.

Does Simplesat have a Missive integration?

No. Missive has no page under Integrations in Simplesat, so there's nothing to connect. You send the survey yourself by inserting the response into a reply. Ratings show up in Simplesat, not in Missive.
