Field mapping

Some Simplesat integrations give you the ability to update data in your helpdesk or CRM after new feedback is received.

Field mapping allows you to choose which fields should be updated, and with what Simplesat data.

General Mapping

This option is perfect when you want to sync feedback data from the primary question of any of your surveys to a single field in your helpdesk or CRM. This means if you have multiple surveys all that data can feed into one central place.

Here are some common examples for general mapping:

  • Choice (Rating) sends the customer's rating (e.g., 1-5, 0-10) from the primary question to your chosen field.

  • Sentiment sends the sentiment (Positive, Neutral, Negative) of the feedback from the primary question.

  • Follow Up Answer syncs the customer's written answer from the follow-up question of the primary question.

Survey and Question Specific Mapping

Sometimes you need more granular control, linking feedback from a specific survey or even a specific question within a survey. This is where survey and question specific mapping comes in.

If you only want data to sync from a particular survey and question, this is the configuration you'd use:

  1. Go to the "Field value" dropdown for a Simplesat field.

  2. Search for the particular survey name (e.g., "Satisfaction Survey 84") and then select the relevant question within that survey (e.g., "Pgi Angelika made it easy for me to handle my issue").

  3. Once you've located the specific survey and question, select the data you want to sync (e.g., "Choice" for the rating, "Sentiment" for the sentiment, or "Comment" for an open-ended answer from a comment box question).

If you have any questions about how to use this feature, or aren't seeing the desired fields you'd like to map, please send us a message and we'll be happy to help!
