You can put a Simplesat survey in the signatures Symprex Email Signature Manager adds to your team's emails, so every email shows the survey's rating choices. Because Email Signature Manager fills in the sender's details, each response comes in with the sender as the team member.
There's nothing to connect. You generate the code in Simplesat and paste it into a signature or campaign template in Email Signature Manager.
Before you start
The Symprex survey is available on every Simplesat plan.
The Symprex option uses Email Signature Manager's fields, and Signature 365, Symprex's Microsoft 365 product, uses different ones. If your signatures are in Signature 365, use Generic Embed instead, as Can I use the survey with Signature 365? below describes.
Send surveys from Symprex
In Simplesat:
Create or open the survey and choose External email embed.
Under Choose where to add your survey, choose Symprex.
Click Generate embed code.
Choose HTML and click Copy survey. The Symprex option has no Visual output.
In Email Signature Manager:
Open the signature template that should include the survey, or a campaign template. A campaign is added to every signature it applies to.
On the HTML Template tab, click Source.
Paste the code where you want the survey to appear.
Click Preview to see the template filled in with a user's details.
Click Save.
Each rating link includes these fields, which Email Signature Manager takes from Active Directory:
What the link carries | Symprex field |
Team member email |
|
Team member first name |
|
Team member last name |
|
The sender's manager, company, department and office, saved as ticket fields on the response |
|
The links don't include the customer's email or a ticket ID. Responses come in without a customer, and every click records a new response.
To see how placeholders work in every tool, read Placeholders and merge fields.
Troubleshooting
My Symprex responses come in without the sender
The links reached Simplesat with their fields exactly as typed, such as {EMAIL}, because Email Signature Manager didn't add the signature. For example, the signature may have been set up in Signature 365, which doesn't fill in these fields. Simplesat credits a team member only from a real email address, and these responses don't have one.
To fix it, put the code in an Email Signature Manager template. For Signature 365, use Generic Embed with {{Email}}, {{FirstName}} and {{LastName}} under Rating placeholders → Team member details.
Emails sent before the fix keep their old links, and responses to them still come in without the sender.
FAQ
Do I need to connect Symprex to Simplesat?
No. The survey works from the code in the signature.
Can I use the survey with Signature 365?
Yes, with Generic Embed instead of the Symprex option. Signature 365 writes its fields in double braces, such as {{Email}}, and doesn't fill in the Symprex option's fields.
Create or open the survey and choose External email embed.
Under Choose where to add your survey, choose Generic Embed.
Under Rating placeholders → Team member details, enter
{{Email}}in Email address,{{FirstName}}in First name and{{LastName}}in Last name.Click Save, then Generate embed code.
Choose HTML and click Copy survey.
Paste the code into the Signature 365 template's Source editor.
Can I see which customer left a rating?
Not with the Symprex option. Every Email Signature Manager field describes the sender, not the recipient.
If you need the customer, use Generic Embed and enter the Symprex fields under Rating placeholders → Team member details: {EMAIL} in Email address, {FIRSTNAME} in First name and {LASTNAME} in Last name. Generic Embed surveys can ask customers for their name and email on the survey page, which External email embed explains.
Does the survey in my signature change when I edit the survey?
No. The code in your template is a copy from when you generated it.
If you change the survey's metric question, or its rating choices, icons or labels, generate the code again and replace it in the template. Emails you've already sent keep the old survey. External email embed lists which changes need new code.
