Briskine integrations

Save a Simplesat survey as a Briskine template and ask for a rating in your Gmail and Outlook.com emails.

Save a Simplesat survey as a Briskine template, and every email you insert it into asks the recipient for a rating. In Gmail and Outlook.com, Briskine fills in the recipient's details and yours, so each response comes in with the recipient as the customer and you as the team member.

There's nothing to connect. You generate the survey code in Simplesat and paste it into a Briskine template.

Before you start

You can add a survey to Briskine on every Simplesat plan. You need the Briskine browser extension, signed in.

Heads up: Briskine only fills in the recipient's email address, your email address and the subject in Gmail and Outlook.com. In other apps it leaves them empty, so responses come in without the customer.

Send surveys from Briskine

First, copy the survey in Simplesat:

  1. Create or open the survey and choose External email embed.

  2. Under Choose where to add your survey, choose Briskine.

  3. Click Generate embed code.

  4. Choose Visual and click Copy survey.

Then save it as a Briskine template and send it:

  1. Click the Briskine button in your browser's toolbar, then click New Template.

  2. Enter a name and a shortcut, and paste the survey into the template.

  3. Click Save Template.

  4. In Gmail or Outlook.com, write an email, add the recipient, then insert the template with its shortcut or from the Briskine dialog.

  5. To test it, send the email to another address you can read, and click a rating in the email that arrives.

Briskine fills in these variables in every rating link:

What the link carries

Briskine variable

Customer email

{{to.email}}

Customer first name

{{to.first_name}}

Company name

{{domain to.email}}, the domain of the recipient's address, such as acme.com

Team member email

{{from.email}}

Team member ID

{{from.first_name}}

Ticket subject

{{subject}}

The links carry no ticket ID, so each click is a new response.

Placeholders and merge fields explains how placeholders work in every tool.

Troubleshooting

My Briskine responses come in without the customer

Check these:

  • You sent the email from Gmail or Outlook.com. In other apps, Briskine leaves the recipient's email address empty.

  • The recipient was in the email before you inserted the template. Briskine fills in the variables when it inserts the template.

One Briskine email gave me two responses

The links carry no ticket ID, so each click is a new response. If a recipient clicks a rating twice, you get two responses.

FAQ

Do I need to connect Briskine to Simplesat?

No. The survey works from the template, so there's nothing to connect.

Who is the team member on a Briskine response?

You, the sender. Briskine sends your email address, plus your first name as the team member ID.

Do I need to update my Briskine template when I change the survey?

Yes, if you change the survey's metric question or its rating choices, icons or labels. The code in your template doesn't update when the survey does, so generate the code again and replace it in your Briskine template. External email embed lists which changes need new code.
