Email activity tracking helps you understand how customers interact with your survey emails. By tracking opens, clicks, and other metrics, you can optimize your survey strategy and improve response rates.
Access email activity
Go to the dashboard for any survey that has the direct email delivery method
Click the Email activity tab
Filtering activity
You can easily narrow down your data with filters:
Filter by date range to focus on specific time periods
Filter by event type to analyze specific communications
Events are the optional follow-up emails sent if you're using the automated email survey reminders feature.
Exporting activity
You can easily export your email activity data for further analysis.
To export, click the Export email activities button.
A CSV file will be generated and downloaded directly to your browser.
Keep the page open until the file is downloaded completely, as CSV files are generated on the front-end.
Need a larger export? Contact the Simplesat team if you need assistance with larger CSV files.
If you see unusual characters when opening the CSV in Excel, try this instead:
Open Excel first
Select Data β Import data from CSV file

The actual activity count is shown in a tooltip while hovering over the percentages.

Note: The actual open count is usually higher than recorded, as some users view only email previews without downloading images.
Average: 10% to 30% |
Clicked | Any link clicked in the email. Usually these are rating buttons, but could also include links in the intro/outro message or footer.
Average: 2% to 8% |
Unsubscribed | The recipient clicked the Unsubscribe link in the email. They'll be unable to receive future emails unless you manually resubscribe them.
Average: less than 1% |
Reported spam | The recipient reported the email as spam directly in their email client. These recipients are automatically added to a suppression list and won't receive future emails.
Average: less than 0.1% |

Simplesat will continue sending to recipients with soft bounces, while hard bounces enter a suppression list and won't receive future emails.
Average: less than 1% |
Activity stream
The activity stream lists all customers who have been sent an email, sorted by the latest sent.
The actions (sent, opened, etc.) show the time of the most recent action.
