Add a Simplesat survey to Gladly

Simplesat allows you to create a CSAT, CES, NPS or 5-star survey that will be automatically sent to a customer upon closing a conversation in Gladly.

There are currently 2 ways of sending surveys in Gladly.

  • An event-based email survey which will be automatically sent by email once a conversation or task has been closed.

  • An HTML or plaintext survey triggered by adding a specific topic to a conversation.

    • If the latest customer message was a chat message then the survey will be sent as a HTML message with clickable emojis.

    • Otherwise the integration will default to a plaintext message.


Send survey on conversation closure

First, create a new survey.

Customize the survey settings to your heart's desires. 😁 Then, choose the direct email delivery > event based option in the publish tab.

Next, under the email tab you can configure how you want your survey email to look like.

Once that's all set up, then go to the delivery tab, copy the endpoint and set the connected service to Gladly (custom).

Authenticate if you haven't done so already, then scroll down to send email survey on conversation closure or send survey on task closure and click activate integration.

Once the integration has been successfully activated, scroll down a bit to endpoint URL.
Paste the survey endpoint in the survey URL field.

If you want sidekick conversations to get a different survey, then fill in the sidekick survey url with a different survey URL. If left set to none then sidekick conversations will receive the regular survey.

In the field mapping table you can configure various settings related to sending surveys.

In the included/excluded topics/inboxes fields you can specify which inbox and topic IDs should or shouldn't receive a survey.

You can also enable SMS or WhatsApp surveys.

SMS surveys will be sent in response to SMS or phone call conversations.

WhatsApp surveys will be sent in response to WhatsApp conversations.

Include the {{surveyURL}} placeholder in your SMS and WhatsApp messages to automatically insert a personalized survey link right into your text.

Once you're all done, click save to save your settings.


Send survey when topic is added

Simplesat can send a survey when a specific topic is added to a conversation.

Here's an example of how this might look for HTML chat messages:

And here's an example of how this might look as a plain text message:

First, create a new survey.

Customize the survey settings to your heart's desires. 😁 Then, choose the direct email delivery > external email embed option in the publish tab.

Select Gladly in the pop-up box.

Make sure the survey is set to display emojis, because Gladly doesn't support images.

Click the generate embed code button. Then you'll need to copy both the HTML and the link options.

Scroll down to send survey when topic is added and click activate integration.

Once the integration is successfully activated, deactivate it again and scroll down a little to field mapping

Fill in the topic ID on which you'd like to send a survey. The topic ID can be found in Gladly under settings -> orchestration -> topics, then edit the topic you'd like to use. The topic ID will be in the page URL.

Next, under chat message and sidekick chat message, paste the HTML survey code which you've copied earlier.

If you'd like to have separate surveys for regular and sidekick conversations, then you can specifically configure the HTML embeds for each here.


At fallback message and sidekick fallback message you can edit the message which will be sent if the conversation is not a chat conversation.

At the fallback survey link and sidekick fallback survey link fill in the survey links which you've copied earlier.

Include the {{surveyURL}} placeholder in your message to automatically insert a personalized survey link right into your text.

If you'd like to have separate surveys for regular and sidekick conversations, then you can specifically configure the survey links for each here.

After that you can configure the rating labels for each rating (1-5). Once that's done, click save to save the settings and reactivate the integration.


Try it out!

Create a test conversation with yourself as the customer. Add your topic or close the conversation, check your email and click any rating that you like. Once you do, new feedback should instantly show up in your Simplesat dashboard. 🎊
